Steps 1-6 describe a quick way of getting started.

1. Download monero-GUI

2. Create a XMR wallet

3. Download xmrig XMR miner

https://xmrig.com/download here

4. Test xmrig

Start xmrig as administrator (win) or in sudo mode (linux).
On first launch xmrig will create a config.json file with optimized settings for your hardware.
Quit the miner.

5. Edit xmrig configuration

Open config.json and scroll down to the address entry and replace the donation address with your XMR address.
Change the pool address to the pool of your choice, ie: 'pool.supportxmr.com:3333'.

6. Start xmrig as admin or sudo again.

• Anon7548: How can I give a name to each miner?

In config.json change "pass": "" to "pass": "WHATEVER_YOU_WANT".
When you give the same name to multiple miners, their cumulative h/s will show up under that name on the pool.
